NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A former Norfolk employee admitted to embezzling thousands of dollars from the city by using a gas card meant to refill public works department vehicles and equipment.
Police say Donald Wilkins gassed up his own minivan and other private vehicles with the city-issued fuel card.
Investigators say he took more than $8,500 before city auditors realized it. Wilkins was arrested and charged back in February.
His sentencing is set for July.
