Certain bottles of liquid Mucinex recalled

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – A company called RB (formerly Reckitt Benckiser) has recalled several liquid Mucinex products due to incorrect labeling.

The recall comes after a retailer alerted the company to drug facts on the back of some bottles not corresponding with the front of the label or the actual product.

Certain lots of the following over-the-counter medications are involved in the recall:

  • MUCINEX® FAST-MAX® Night Time Cold & Flu
  • MUCINEX® FAST-MAX® Cold & Sinus
  • MUCINEX® FAST-MAX® Severe Congestion & Cough
  • MUCINEX® FAST-MAX® Cold, Flu & Sore Throat

RB says customers should throw the products out by mixing the liquids with an unpalatable substance like kitty litter or used coffee grounds. The mixture should be sealed in a plastic bag and thrown out in your household trash.
