VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Two DUI suspects now face additional charges for Sunday’s crash in Virginia Beach that killed a woman and injured others.

Police say Dennis Brito, 33, and Charles Hazer, 32, were operating vehicles that crashed into each other around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Newtown Road and Greenwich Road. The impact instantly killed 33-year-old Heidi Friedman, of Hampton, who was a passenger in Brito’s vehicle.

Three other passengers were rushed to local hospitals, one of whom had serious injuries. A fourth passenger was injured, but refused rescue at the scene.

Brito, of Norfolk, was charged with DUI and refusal of test. Hazer, of Chesapeake, was charged with DUI and disorderly conduct. On Thursday, Virginia Beach police charged both men with involuntary manslaughter.

Both men are being held without bond at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.
