Quarterback emerges in ODU spring practice

NORFOLK (VA) – With one week to go before Old Dominion suits up for their annual Spring football game, head coach Bobby Wilder seems to have found a successor to Taylor Heinicke. Not surprisingly, it’s sophomore Shuler Bentley, who redshirted a season ago but logged a season of valuable practice time.

That practice seems to be showing this Spring, according to Wilder. “He has really established himself as the guy right now,” he said.

He’ll have a chance next weekend to show the Monarch nation just what he can offer this season. The annual Blue-White scrimmage will be Saturday April 11, and will start around 3:00 pm.
