VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The case against two bank robbery suspects has been delayed because of a conflict of interest.
Rory Diggs, 43, and John Lewis, 41, are accused of robbing the Wells Fargo on General Booth Boulevard in December. After the robbery, there was a wild chase and shootout with police and state troopers.
The preliminary hearing was supposed to happen Friday, but the judge assigned to the case recused herself. She said she knew the state trooper who was shot during the search for the suspects.
The case has been moved to the end of the month.
