Woman accused of injuring man with knife

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News police arrested a woman accused of injuring a man with a knife.

According to police, the victim, a 25-year-old Newport News man told officers 19-year-old Brittney Rachelle Jenkins cut him in the throat area while inside his home near the 11400 block of Jefferson Avenue on March 20, around 8:30 p.m.

The victim told police, Jenkins took his handgun and brandished it at him before running away with it. The victim then ran to a neighboring residence and called police.

Warrants were obtained and Jenkins turned herself in on March 29, around 1:30 a.m. She was charged with malicious wounding, robbery, abduction, brandishing a firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
