SYRACUSE, NY (WAVY) – Tom Izzo has done it again. His 7-seed Michigan State team, after wins over 2-seed Virginia, 3-seed Oklahoma, defeated 4-seed Louisville 76-70 in overtime on Sunday afternoon to advance to the Final Four in Indianapolis.

It will be Izzo’s seventh trip to the Final Four.

Spartan guard Travis Trice led the way with 17 points, but it was Brandon Dawson (9 points) who essentially sealed the game with a put-back layup with just :36 seconds left in OT to give his team a 4-point advantage.

Wayne Blackshear scored a game-high 28 points for Louisville, while teammate Montrez Harrell put in 16 points and 9 rebounds. The Spartans now advance to play the winner of Duke-Gonzaga in next weekend’s semi-final matchup.

The Cardinals forced overtime when Mangok Mathiang hit one of two free throws to tie the game at 65-65, while a half-court heave by Trice as time expired sailed long.
