Hard-hitting night ends in 3-1 Admirals loss

NORFOLK (WAVY) – Paul Thompson had a hat trick with a goal in all three periods and led Albany to a 3-1, hard-hitting win over Norfolk on Saturday night. The Devils left Norfolk with a two-game sweep over the Admirals, whose tail-spin continues.

Norfolk has now lost 16 of its last 18 games. Their next game will be at Scope on Wednesday against Lehigh Valley. The Admirals only offense came in the second period, when Louis LeBlanc corralled a loose puck, looped around the back of the goal and netted his 13th of the season, which cut the Albany lead to 2-1.

The night also featured a lot of fists. A total of 30 penalty minutes were issued as a result of fighting.
