PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth detectives are trying to identify a woman they believe stole a vehicle and then illegally sold it online.

The victim and female suspect left a bar in Virginia Beach on March 7 and headed to a house in Portsmouth, according to Detective Misty Holley.

On the way, the suspect picked up two men in Norfolk. When they arrived at the home in the 100 block of Cushing Street, the victim invited them inside. He fell asleep, and when he awoke, his wallet, cellphone and car keys were gone. The victim also discovered his car was missing.

Detectives learned the victim’s debit card was used in Norfolk the same day his wallet was stolen. And on March 12, the victim’s vehicle was found in Chesapeake. Holley said the investigation revealed the vehicle had been sold through a website called Peddle.com.

Detectives were able to find a picture of the female suspect, but don’t know her identity. If you know who she is, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP℠.
