HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police have identified the suspect in the investigation of a Wednesday morning homicide.

Paris Marcellis Small is wanted for murder, attempted maiming, shooting into an occupied vehicle and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, according to Hampton Police Division spokeswoman Ashley Jenrette.

The charges are related to a shooting that happened around 1:50 a.m. in the 300 block of Brightwood Avenue. Investigators believe Small and 21-year-old Marcus Major got into a argument, then Small pulled out a gun and shot Major. Jenrette said police have also identified a 19-year-old woman as a second victim of the incident, although she was not injured.

When officers got to the scene, they found Major dead from gunshot wounds inside a white Chevy Impala.

Jenrette said investigators believe the suspect and victims all knew each other.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hampton Police Department at 757-727-6111 or call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP℠.
