William & Mary outlasts Hofstra in wild double-overtime finish

BALTIMORE, MD (WAVY) – In one of the most memorable games in William and Mary’s basketball history, Marcus Thornton tied his career high with 37 points, but it was Daniel Dixon who delivered a game-winning three point make from the corner to give the Tribe a 92-91 double-overtime win over Hofstra.

With his team down 91-89 and just seconds left in the second overtim, Thornton drove and attracted every bit of attention, leaving Dixon alone in the corner. Dixon nailed his first three-point basket of the game sent the Tribe past the Pride.

Omar Prewitt also booked 33 points.

The Tribe survive and advance to the Colonial Athletic Association championship game with the win. One more win, and the team will punch its first ever ticket to the NCAA Tournament game.
