Suspects arrested for bringing guns on HRT bus

Infiniti Bell and Dominique Gaskill

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police charged a man, a woman and a 17-year-old with bringing guns onto an HRT bus Saturday.

Officers responded to the report just before 5 p.m. Saturday, and found the bus on J.Clyde Morris Boulevard, near Jefferson Avenue.

They found a 17-year-old with a firearm, and charged him with two second offenses.

The bus continued its route to Patrick Henry Mall, where it stopped again and a police lieutenant and the head of security for the mall climbed aboard.

Officers interviewed everyone on board the bus and released those who they determined were not involved with the call about firearms. Officers did arrest a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman.

Dominique Gaskill, 20, of Newport News had an outstanding warrant, and officers say he was carrying a gun. He is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officers arrested Infiniti Bell, 19, of Hampton and charged her with assaulting a law enforcement officer.
