Police seek suspect in Burger King robbery

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police are asking the public to help identify the suspect in a Friday morning robbery at a local fast food restaurant.

Around 6:30 a.m., officers were called to the Burger King in the 3400 block of West Mercury Boulevard for a report of a robbery, according to Hampton Police Division spokeswoman Ashley Jenrette.

Investigators determined a man had entered the business behind an employee, implied he had a weapon and demanded cash. The employee complied and the suspect left on foot.

Jenrette said there were no customers inside the restaurant at the time of the robbery, and that no one was injured.

The suspect is described as an African American man in his late 20s to early 30s. He is about six-feet-tall and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with “Nike” in white lettering on the front, dark pants, and white shoes. A white towel was partially covering his face.
