Crews contain garage fire in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters in Portsmouth have put out a garage fire after flames sparked Tuesday morning.

Deputy Chief Jim Hoffler with the Portsmouth Fire Department said the fire started in a detached double garage on Roberts Court, shortly after 10 a.m.

Hoffler said it took crews 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains unclear.
