NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Tuesday brought long-awaited answers for a Newport News community frustrated over low-hanging utility lines.
Thirty feet of cable runs down Harris Road, near Deep Creek Road. 10 On Your Side first showed you the problem on Friday: neighbors said the lines were near a school bus stop and were a safety hazard for children.
After four months of unanswered questions, 10 On Your Side stepped in. And four days later, crews from Dominion Virginia Power were out installing a new power pole.
Once that job is finished, the city of Newport News said Cox Cable and Verizon will raise the lines they have there, too.
