2 injured in overnight shootings in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Two men are in the hospital Tuesday morning after being shot overnight.

Portsmouth police say one of the victims was shot in the lower torso while at the London Oaks Apartment complex. Police responded to an apartment unit in the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue, shortly after 12 a.m., and transported the 21-year-old man to Sentara Norfolk General for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

Just minutes later, another man walked into the ER at Maryview Hospital. Police say the 24-year-old man was shot in the arm and his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police have confirmed both shootings are related. Detectives are continuing their investigation and do not have a suspect or motive.
