NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk Police Chief Michael Goldsmith spoke Saturday at a town hall meeting held by local teens.
The meeting at Norview Community Center focused on police and community relations, racial profiling and the justice system.
“Its very easy to mix up what you perceive and what’s actually real,” said student Deionjalei Miller. “So I felt like it was very important to actually have our questions being answered to these leaders that are actually making changes in the community so we can get answers straight from the source that it’s coming from rather than what we see in the media.”
The event also promoted healthy lifestyles, fitness and nutrition for teens in the community.
