HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Chris Brown’s tour, including Tuesday night’s concert at the Hampton Coliseum, has been postponed, according to the venue’s website and Twitter posts Monday night.

Brown was scheduled to kick of his “Between the Sheets” tour with a concert in Hampton alongside fellow Virginia native Trey Songz and Tyga, Tuesday, January 27.

Neither the Coliseum nor Brown’s booking and promotion agency, Live Nation, announced a reason for the last minute change, but an Instagram post on Brown’s account cited legal problems. The Instagram post stated a judge would not sign off on his travel for the tour, due to uncompleted community service hours.

“The show must go on,” Brown wrote on Instagram. “Out of 1000 hours I only have 100 left. I will work … to complete it and I will be on that stage.”

Earlier this month, reported a judge revoked Chris Brown’s probation, but allowed him to remain free after the R&B singer traveled without approval for a concert and failed to complete community service on time. He’s still on probation for his 2009 attack of pop singer Rihanna, his then girlfriend.

According to the Hampton Coliseum, rescheduling information will be posted on If ticket holders are unable to attend the concert on the rescheduled date, refunds will be available wherever fans purchased the tickets.

I would first like to apologize to all the fans and people who have been supporters of me and all the music over the years. The beginning of the BTS tour has been moved to later dates now. The judge would not sign off on my travel to do the tour until I finish these last 100 hours of community service. I promise that I am busting my ass doing it everyday until it’s complete. This is the most disappointing news I’ve gotten in a while. Everything happens for a reason so I wanted to personally inform my fans. The show must go on. Out of 1000 hours I only have 100 left. I will work my ass off to complete it and I will be on that stage. Once again I’m sorry for the delay. I love yall! We will let yall know the dates that are changed. It’s not cancelled. Just moved around a couple weeks.
