Balloons cause blown fuse in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Dominion Virginia Power crews were called to restore power to hundreds of customers in Norfolk Tuesday, and the outage had nothing to do with the day’s wintry weather.

Balloons on the line damaged a fuse on First View Street near Orange Avenue, around 1 p.m., according to company spokeswoman Bonita Billingsley Harris.

500 customers were impacted by the outage, but not for long. Harris said it took crews less than half an hour to get them their power back.
