PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — On the same day the reward for an 18-year-old’s killer was raised to $10,000, a community in Portsmouth gathered to discuss the case.
Someone shot and killed Omar Booker at his job, Philadelphia Cold Cuts on North King Street, last week. Then on Friday, Portsmouth police released some grainy security video of two people running to and from the store at the time of the murder.
Monday night’s meeting at New Mount Olive Baptist Church was to engage the community to stop violence in Portsmouth.
“We have to give them opportunities to keep them busy where they can learn trades and do something positive with their time,” said community activist Kintrell Devin.
Police have not identified any suspects in the case. If you know anything, please call police.
