Habitat for Humanity accepting low-income homeowner applications

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) – Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads is now accepting homeowner applications for families with low to moderate incomes until March 1. The program will select families based on the need for adequate shelter,

The program will select families based on the need for adequate shelter and ability to pay for housing. First-time homebuyers, veterans and active-duty military personnel whose income ranges from $23,500 to $54,550 are encouraged to apply.

People can visit the website to complete a survey and application. Right now, two houses are available – one at 220 Hough Street in Norfolk and 5208 Johnson Avenue in Portsmouth.
