VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters have put out flames at a home in Virginia Beach after a fire broke overnight.

Employees at a nearby Dominos restaurant called in saying they smelled smoke in the 5600 block of Coliss Avenue, shortly after 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Virginia Beach Fire Department Captain Chris Arney said crews knocked down the fire in about five minutes. Arney said most of the damage is in the back of the house. No one was inside the home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
