Authorities search for man accused of tampering with vehicles

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives say a man was caught on surveillance video tampering with several vehicles in Portsmouth on Christmas Eve.

The suspect walked into a driveway in the 100 block of Gee Street and began pulling on the handle of a parked vehicle. The man entered the vehicle and began searching thought the vehicle and tampering with the ignition, say police.

The man then and tries to open the doors to another vehicle parked in the same driveway. When the suspect cannot get inside that vehicle, he walks to the home next door and begins pulling on the door handles of a vehicle in that driveway. After failing to get into this vehicle, the suspect walks way.
