NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police say shots were fired during a narcotics search warrant execution in Norfolk, resulting in the death of two pit bulls, Friday morning.
Shortly before 10 a.m., narcotics detectives and special operations team officers executed a narcotic search warrant in the 3700 block of East Princess Anne Road.
Authorities say the pit bulls charged at them once entering the home, forcing them to shoot at the dogs. Both dogs died, and a third dog was recovered from the home, unharmed.
Officers arrested 31-year-old Jason A. Williams and another man after firearms and narcotics were recovered from the home. The second man was released without charges.
Williams was charged with two counts of possession with the intent to sell narcotics and one count of possession of narcotics while in possession of a firearm. He is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
Police say two other people were in the home but were released.
