Coleman’s 20 points not enough to halt Norview’s second-half surge

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Sophomore guard Matt Coleman registered 20 points, seven assists and four steals, but it wasn’t enough to lead Maury High School past a hot-shooting Norview in the second half. The Pilots (11-2) earned a 55-46 win in front of a a packed Maury house on Tuesday night.

The Commodores (9-3) led by as many as 11 with 6:50 still to play in the second quarter, but only led 25-23 at halftime.

The Pilots shot 62 percent from the field in the second half, and drained two of their three 3-pointers to take an 11-point fourth quarter lead. Th Pilots also dominated the paint, where they outscored the Commodores 38-20.

Lamont Stewart led Norview with 17 points.
