Oil spill, crash causes traffic delays on I-64 east near Robin Hood Rd.

NORFOLK, Va.(WAVY) A transmission oil spill from a Norfolk Fire Truck caused a crash and long traffic back-ups on I-64 east near Robin Hood Rd. Sunday morning.

According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police, the spill happened around 7:11 a.m. and caused a single vehicle crash but no one was injured.

All lanes on I-64 east were initially closed while crews cleaned up the spill and cleared the accident. Traffic was being diverted on to Norview Avenue but two lane have since been opened to let cars through.

There is a one mile back up..
