HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police have identified two Hampton men as suspects in the investigation of a robbery and shooting along North King Street last week.
Kasheem Ramel Hart, 27, and Peter Burke Jones, 28, are each wanted for one count of maiming, one count of robbery, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The charges stem from an armed robbery around 6:30 p.m., Dec. 15, according to Cpl. Mary Shackelford with the Hampton Police Division. Investigators believe a man was walking in the 800 block of N. King Street when two armed men approached and demanded property and cash. At some point, police said the men got in a fight and the victim was shot.
The victim’s injury was not life-threatening. He is a 33-year-old Hampton man who knew the suspects, Shackelford said. Investigators believe there are “narcotic overtones associated” with the incident, Shackelford said.
Hampton police are asking for the public’s help location Hart and Jones. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 757-727-6111 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP℠.
