Police investigating robbery at Elizabeth City hotel

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — An employee at an Elizabeth CIty hotel says she was robbed at work by a man wearing a camouflage mask and gloves.

On Dec. 22, just before 9 p.m., officers responded to The Days Inn, located at 308 S. Hughes Blvd., in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arriving, nighttime manager Lisa Moore told police a man wearing a camouflage mask and gloves, a black hooded sweat shirt and dark pants entered the hotel through the front door and pulled out, what Moore believed to be, a revolver.

Police say Moore gave the suspect an undisclosed of money. The man then fled on foot. A witness told police the man fled on foot toward the old Albemarle District Jail.
