NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Plain and simple, Bridgeport took advantage of opportunities, while Norfolk did not. The result was a 5-2 home loss for the Admirals, who took a brief lead, then surrendered four unanswered goals.
Trailing 1-0 in the first period, the Admirals scored twice on power play opportunities, both with a man advantage. They started off 2-for-2 in converting shot-on-goal opportunities to scores and held a 2-1 lead at the first intermission but never scored again.
Right wing Louis LeBlanc scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season 12:22 through the first period, and Antoine Laganiere scored his sixth of the season just five minutes later to give the Admirals that brief advantage.
Colin McDonald scored twice to lead Bridgeport in the win.
The same two teams play again at Scope on Saturday. The puck will drop at 7:15.
