VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A Virginia Beach 19-year-old arrested in connection with child porn will go to court Thursday.

Federal agents with Homeland Security took Dwight McEachin into custody Monday and charged him with one count each of distribution and possession of child pornography. He is accused of sending images of kids younger than 10 years old to an undercover investigator. His preliminary hearing will be held Dec. 18.

The investigation started in March when authorities were looking into a Florida man who they said was trading pictures of himself having sex with his step-grandchildren on the app KIK. Federal agents kept using that man’s account to find others sending illegal images.

In late September, an undercover investigator started talking with McEachin on KIK, according to court documents. The criminal complaint filed details a conversation between the two where McEachin sends child pornography.

McEachin then asked the investigator for photos as well as websites where he can meet young boys.

At one point, McEachin sent the agent a photo of himself with a unique blanket. Through social media, the investigator was able to identify McEachin because of other pictures with the same blanket.

The agent filed an arrest warrant Dec. 11.
