Admirals lose to Springfield 3-1 on toy toss night

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Norfolk Admirals surrendered a goal in each period in Friday night’s 3-1 loss to the Springfield Falcons.

The Admrials were playing with goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov, a veteran of nearly 300 NHL starts, who will more than likely be with the Anaheim Ducks.

Springfield goaltender Anton Forsberg stopped 26 of 27 shots, while Bryzgalov turned aside 32 of 34 shots he faced.

Despite the loss, it was another successful toy toss night. After the Admirals scored on a goal credited to Max Friberg, fans littered the ice with stuffed animals to benefit the local chapter of toys for tots.
