The military, along with Fed-Ex, helped deliver 350 trees to Hampton Roads. Then junior enlisted military families got to pick out their favorite tree and take one home to decorate.

“I’ll be going to Oregon, but we’ll have our tree set up in the house with the whole shebang and everything,” Staff Sgt. Paul Zimmerman said.

The trees for troops program is a nationwide campaign. The military sends out more than 17,000 real trees to U.S. military bases all over the world, including the Middle East.
