Portsmouth police: Man shot in neck

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth police confirm a shooting Monday night.

Dispatchers received a 911 call about the shooting around 9:30 p.m., according to Detective Misty Holley. Officers responded to the 1600 block of Rodman Avenue, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the neck.

The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Holley said.
