NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk based non-profit is offering free oral swab HIV tests to the first 50 young adults on Monday, Dec. 1.
TeenAIDS.org is hoping to break the current world record of young adults self-testing simultaneously. They will be testing 50 people between the ages 17 to 22, at no charge. Sign up is mandatory prior to the event. You can register online here.
It is on a first come basis and you must bring ID. Testing starts at 3 p.m. at MacArthur Square in Norfolk.
Teens 15 and 16 can register but only with parent or guardian’s signed, written permission.
According to TeenAIDS.org, Norfolk now ranks number one for AIDS in Virginia, and among the highest in STDs in the nation.
