ERC to resume toll violation notices

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Elizabeth River Crossings says it has ironed out its toll billing problems, and will resume sending violation notices.

Administrators send notices to people who have not paid their bill in 30 days. Part of that penalty includes a $25 admin fee.

A few months ago, 10 On Your Side told you about the billing debacle at the Midtown and Downtown tunnels. Dozens of viewers say they got inaccurate bills, late bills or got bills when they didn’t even drive through the tunnels.

After WAVY News’ stories, ERC worked to correct the problems.

Be sure to keep 10 On Your Side posted, and we’ll keep an eye on things, and let you know if any other issues arise.
