NNPD: 2 teens injured in drive-by shooting

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Someone inside a car traveling north on Madison Avenue Sunday evening fired several shots hitting two teenagers, police say.

Around 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30, bullets flew from the light-colored 4-door vehicle striking a 17-year-old boy in the knee and a 14-year-old girl in the shoulder, according to authorities. The two were talking to each other on a porch in the 3400 block of Madison and heard gunshots. The boy turned around to see what was going on and that’s when he was shot in the knee.

Officers said it is unknown if the suspects’ target was the house or the victims. Both injuries are non-life threatening, and the victims were treated at a local hospital.

The number of people inside the suspect vehicle is unknown as of now.
