Man shoots at police during foot chase in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) –  After police stopped a car for an expired inspection sticker Saturday afternoon, the driver jumped out and starting running. When two officers started to chase after him, the suspect turned and fired a single gunshot, according to authorities.

Neither one was hit by the bullet. They continued after the man but were unable to catch him, the release stated. Police had stopped the car in the 2600 block of Harrell Avenue  around 1:30 p.m. Nov. 29.

The suspect is a black male in his late teens or early 20s and is around 5 feet 9 inches tall weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat and black jeans.
