2 people shot after leaving NC nightclub

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) – Two people were shot in their car Friday morning after leaving an Elizabeth City nightclub.

Larry Donell Hunter, 30, and his cousin Tarvoris Jordan, 31, were pulling away from Checkmates at Colonial Avenue and McMorrine Street early Nov. 28. They had just left when four to six shots struck the vehicle Hunter, of Elizabeth City, was driving, according to authorities.

Jordan, of Belvidere, was hit in the forehead just above his left eye, and Hunter was wounded in the elbow, police said. Hunter then drove to Sentara Hospital where Jordan was transported by Nightingale to Norfolk Sentara Hospital. Jordan is in critical condition, the release stated.
