FBI offering up to $5,000 for info leading to arrest of health care fraud suspect

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The FBI is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted on charges related to his role in an alleged scheme to defraud the Virginia Medicaid program.

Authorities say, on Oct. 22, Baffour E. Opoku, the owner and operator of Progressive Counseling Services, LLC, a Virginia Beach based counseling business, was indicted by a federal grand jury for his alleged role in the health care fraud scheme. The grand jury also indicted nine others, current and former employees.

A warrant was then issued for his arrest. Anyone with information concerning this Opoku is asked to contact the Norfolk FBI office at (757)455-0100.

This case is being investigated by the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office; the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Virginia Attorney General’s Office; Homeland Security Investigations (HSI); the IRS-Criminal Investigations Division; and the Department of Labor, Office of Labor Racketeering and Fraud Investigations.
