Man caught on surveillance video robbing Newport News business

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Authorities are looking to identify a man they say robbed a First Virginia/ Check Smart in Newport News on Nov. 19.

Newport News Police say the man entered the business located at 696 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. He then ordered the clerks and two customers to the floor. The man obtained cash and fled from the scene,

No one was injured and police continue to investigate.

Police say the suspect matches the description of the man that robbed the 7-Eleven located at 744 J Clyde Morris Blvd.on Nov. 24.
