Robbery suspect hands note to clerk demanding money

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police are looking for a man they say handed a clerk a note indicating he had a handgun and demanding cash from a Cash Advance in Newport News.

Surveillance video shows the man entering the Cash Advance located at 1055 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. on Nov. 20, shortly before 2 p.m.

He then returns several minutes and hands the clerk the note with his request, according to police. The man takes the note back and the clerk complies with his demands.

The suspect then flees the area on foot. There were no reported injuries.
