N.C. (WAVY) — A second child in North Carolina has died as a result of the flu, according to The Department of Health and Human Services.
Officials say the child, who was between 5 and 17 years old, died last week. The exact age or hometown of the victim was not released.
The first death happened in early October when a child from the Triangle died.
During the last flu season, 107 people in North Carolina died from the virus.
