NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Old Dominion Police have arrested a man charged with raping a female student on campus earlier in November.

Through court documents, 10 On Your Side has learned a student reported that she was raped Nov. 8 by three men in a dorm after a night of drinking. She identified one of the suspects as “Zale,” who police say is Denzel Delk of Norfolk.

Delk, 21, was taken into custody Nov. 12 and charged with rape, grand larceny and marijuana possession, according to school authorities.

In the search warrant affidavit filed by ODU police in Norfolk Circuit Court, the victim said she had been drinking the night of Nov. 7 and into the morning of the next day with friends. She later went back to a campus residence hall. Surveillance camera footage shows five males and two females walking into that dorm. One is the victim. Another is Delk.

She then told officers the group was drinking in the room when she passed out. The next thing she remembers is waking up to one of the men raping her, according to court documents. The victim said she kept going in and out of consciousness that night, and each time she woke up one of the males was having non-consensual sex with her, the affidavit stated.

Three males are seen leaving the residence hall on security video within seconds of each other the morning of Nov. 8. When the victim reported the crime, she also said her iPad was missing and her roommate couldn’t find several items of clothing.

She gave officers first names for the two other males. Police are working to identify them and have asked for the public’s help, said ODU spokeswoman Giovanna Genard.

Delk had a bond hearing on Dec. 1 and was denied bond.
