VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man believed to be responsible for several larcenies at a local Walgreens store.

Around 3:15 p.m. on October 16, a man went into the Walgreens at 856 South Military Highway and tried to steal merchandise, according to Office James Cason with the Virginia Beach Police Department.

When the suspect was confronted, he assaulted the loss prevention employee, Cason said.

Investigators believe the same man is responsible for other larcenies at the same store.

The suspect is described as an African-American man with a large build. He’s presumed to be about 25-years-old, 5-foot-10, and weigh about 230 pounds. He may be driving a silver van.
