Shooting hurts one in Portsmouth

Portsmouth, Va. (WAVY) – Portsmouth Police are investigating a shooting early Sunday morning that left one man injured.

Just before 2:15 a.m., police responded to a call about a man suffering from a gunshot wound on Portsmouth Boulevard near the intersection of Beech Street. Officers discovered the victim had been shot in the wrist by an unknown suspect.

The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He is expected to recover.
