NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Navy is set to bring several thousand sailors back to their loved ones this weekend.
Two ships in the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group are scheduled to cruise back into Norfolk on Saturday, with more than 5,000 sailors.
While deployed the last nine months, the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush and the guided missile destroyer USS Truxtun most notably joined in attacks on ISIS targets in Syria, while also supporting operations in Iraq and Syria.
