NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Old Dominion University Police have made three arrests related to the recent off-campus assault of two students.
Termaine Gregory, 21, Quameel Harvey, 20, and Raymond Brown, 18, have each been charged with two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of assault by mob, according to ODU spokeswoman Giovanna Genard.
The assault happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 25, at a private party in the 800 block of West 42nd Street. Genard said two ODU students were seriously injured and treated at a local hospital for broken facial bones.
Genard said the suspects were arrested at their Virginia Beach residences and are being held at the Norfolk City Jail.
None of the suspects are connected to ODU. Genard said Brown is a student at Bryant and Stratton College.
A similar, but unrelated assault happened Nov. 2 in the 1400 block of Melrose Parkway, also at an off-campus party. The Norfolk Police Department is leading the investigation of that incident.
ODU Police is assisting Norfolk Police with active off-campus patrols. Norfolk Police have stepped-up patrols in the neighborhoods surrounding Old Dominion to now include tactical, K-9 and bike patrol units as a result of these incidents, according to Genard.
