Man charged in Newport News home burglary

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A man broke into a home Saturday night in Newport News stealing guns, money and electronics.

Around 11 p.m. Oct. 25, the four victims returned home to the 00 block of Sir Francis Wyatt Place finding their stuff missing. Detectives arranged to meet with Jayquan Darden to buy the stolen goods when they arrested him Monday night, according to officers.

Darden is charged with four counts of entering a building to commit larceny, five counts of grand larceny, two counts for obtaining money on a false pretense, stolen property with intent to sell and carrying a concealed weapon, police reports stated.
