Police investigating early morning shooting in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A man has been transported to the hospital after he was shot in the shoulder, early Tuesday morning.

Portsmouth Police say the man was shot at the Village of Western Branch apartment complex, located on the 6000 block of Churchland Boulevard, around 4 a.m.

The man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.

Officers say they do not have a motive or a suspect description at this time.
