A Virginia Beach grand jury returned true bills Monday, July 20 in a number of cases. Among them were indictments against Robert of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
The indictments are in connection with the May 21 shooting death of a security guard at Tropical Delights off Indian River Road.
Roberts’ determination of counsel hearing is scheduled for July 23 in Virginia Beach Circuit Court. His trial date will be set after that.
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A man wanted in connection with a homicide at a Virginia Beach nightclub four months ago was taken into custody Friday morning.
Andrew Wesley Roberts shot and killed Tyrone Martin May 21 at Tropical Delights Restaurant and Lounge on the 6200 block of Indian River Road, the release stated.
Martin worked security at the nightclub when an argument broke out and the shooting ensued, according to officers.
US Marshals arrested Roberts in Stone Mountain, Ga. Oct. 24. He is now held in a local facility awaiting extradition.
